Gotherington Cricket Club 2008 and Into 2009

We now have new changing and shower facilities as well as storage for machinery which should enable us to maintain the wicket to the good standard achieved in 2007 and 2008 .Volunteers for help with the pitch always welcome.
Tour to Devon , sunshine and runs aplenty. The annual dinner is September 26th at the Shutter last year Brian Gardiner picked up the club award, Will Banwell the Bowling,Joe Tustain the all rounder trophy, Rob Sharp the batting and David Cosgrove the young player award. 2008 saw 6 senior games cancelled due to the weather and 2 rained off in mid match. The U15 side made up of u12 u13 and u14 players reached the cup final and gave Cheltenham A a good run for their money

Gotherington cc had a good season 2007 with an attractive fixture list including away games at beautiful grounds such as Overbury,Apperley,Claverham,,Kingsholm,,Ashton-under-hill and Winchcombe, plus a tour to Devon playing division A club Abbotskerswell and Kingskerswell.Although many fixtures were rained off we did finish with a flourish of good weather and cricket.
The u11 u13 and u15 teams have all aquitted themselves very well with around 45 boys involved and strong performances achieved in the league tables against some much bigger outfits.The u13 won 8 out of 10 games and the u15 won their last 6 matches
Anybody wishing to get involved in the club is most welcome, we could really do some help with the ground , do not worry if you can only spare a small amount of time it all helps.
